Western
Mass Blades to hold Parent Information and Free Skate Night

The
Blades will hold an open skate night for all players for the upcoming
season on Wednesday, March 14th at the Olympia Ice Center. Players
will take part in a skill session with Director of Player Development
Paul Rivest, while the kids take the ice the parents are invited
to take part in an information session about the Blades with Jerry
Zalucki and other members of the staff.

The
Western Mass Blades are the District 6 and Greater Springfield
League ( GSL) representatives in the Massachusetts Hockey Tier
I Select League. The Blades field three distinct type of programs
for youth hockey players between the ages of 6 to 18. All Blades
teams are eligible for Massachusetts Hockey State Tournaments;
and Pee Wee and above are eligible for the USA Hockey National
Tournaments.
Part-time
Enhancement for Mite (1999 and Under) and Squirt Minor
(1998) that allow skaters to further develop skill development
to complement their hometown GSL teams.
Player
Development
teams that are full time at the Squirt Major (1997), Pee Wee
Minor (1996), Pee Wee Major (1995), and Bantam Minor (1994).
The Pee Wee through Bantam Minor teams participate in the Mass
Hockey Select Player Development that provides the opportunity
for maximum development. The Squirt Major team will be participating
in a challenging independent schedule for 2007-08 designed to
prepare for league competition in 2008-09.
Pre-High
School Program offers
our local high school players to prepare at the highest level
of competition for their upcoming high school and prep school
season.
