Hockey Coach of the Year — Jack DeMont
Jack
DeMont played on the varsity hockey team at Agawam High School
where in his senior year (1978) the team won the Western Mass.
Championship. Jack went on to graduate from the University of
Connecticut in 1982 and currently is coaching hockey for the Bay
West Youth Hockey Association. Over the past 10 years he has been
involved in coaching programs ranging from Learn to Skate through
Bantam. Jack has two children, Diana and Steven, and resides in
West Springfield, MA with his wife of twenty-two years, Frances.

Hockey Assistant Coach of the Year — Tim Distefano
Tim
makes his home in Longmeadow with wife Louise and two hockey playing
children, Shannon, sixteen and Sam, thirteen. He has fifteen years
experience coaching with both boys and girls/women hockey programs.
Tim started with Learn to Skate, with Holy Name Hockey Organization
and now holds his level IV qualifications. Tim is pursuing his
master coach status and over the past 14 years has played a major
role in developing the Tier I girls/women program, the Springfield
Junior Falcons. He not only brings experience but creativity,
humor, and personal interest in the teams he coaches.
