GSL approves new Evaluation Process and No Play Date Rules for 2005-06 Season

Evaluations

The Greater Springfield League has approved a new process for the Evaluation Process for the 2005-06 season. An Evaluation Committee will be running the games evaluating the teams with evaluators and be submitting the divisions to the e-board for approval in October.

1. Evaluation Committee

  • To be chaired by 2nd Vice President.
  • Committee will be formed of volunteers with no e-board members besides chair.
  • Each member association will provide a minimum of 3 evaluators to evaluate games as scheduled by committee chair.
  • Failure to participate in the evaluation process will result in forfeit of appeal process for entire association.

2. Evaluation Pools

  • Each association will be required to place their first team into pool one.
  • Additional teams (second, third, ect.) may place in either pool one, two, or three.
  • The third pool will be non-contact hockey in all divisions.

3. Division will be set based on

  • Game Results (Gold copy of score sheets submitted to Committee Chair)
  • Evaluator Game Review Forms (see attached)
  • Divisions will be set based on results, G.R.F. scores and the recommendations of the Evaluation Committee
  • Final divisions will be set by e-board on the basis of the Evaluation Committees recommendations.

4. Appeal of results

  • Appeals to committee must be made in writing submitted to the Evaluation Committee Chair within seven (7) of announcement of divisions.
  • A meeting may be scheduled with team reps, evaluation committee, and e-board to review appeal.

5. Additional Adjustments to divisions

  • The GSL e-board reserves the right to re-evaluate any team in any division at anytime during the regular season.
  • The GSL e-board is the only group that can move a team after the division have been set for the regular season.
No Play Dates

The following are changes in the procedures for No Play Dates and the Number of No Play Dates allotted to each team for the 2005-06 season.

  1. The only person that can submit No Play Dates to the League Scheduler is the Associations Scheduler.
  2. All No Play Dates for the season must be submitted to the scheduler in writing by December 1st.
  3. All No Play Dates prior to December 1st must be submitted to scheduler 30 Days in advance of requested date.
  4. Teams will be limited to a maximum of NINE (9) No Play Dates for the entire season including evaluations, regular season, and playoffs.
  5. The only exception to the 9 No Play Dates would be to participate in the State Championships.
  6. 1st Schedule of the regular season to run from November 1st to January 31st. The February schedule will be reserved for re balancing of schedule due to snow cancellations.
