August GSL
Meeting News and Notes
The
GSL held its first meeting of the 2006-07 season on Wednesday,
August 16th in Westfield at Amelia Park.
- The
cost of ice per hour and payment procedures for rinks for the
2006-07 season have been updated on the website.
- The
GSL and the referees have come to an agreement on a new three
year deal in which the officials will stay the same for 2006-07,
a dollar increase in 2007-08, and remain the same for 2008-09.
A reminder that timekeepers have gone to $12.00 a game starting
this season.
- USA
Hockey's helmet rule for coaches is to be enforced by the associations
and not the GSL.
- The
GSL approved evaluation procedures and the formation of six
committees to assist in the running of the league.

- These
committees are to be filled by GSL reps and are open to GSL
association members who may be interested in participating.
- The
GSL and the Falcons announced the Player of the Month Award
will return for the 2006-07 season and is currently seeking
a new sponsor. If interested please contact Damon Markiewicz

- The
next GSL meeting will be Wednesday, September 6th at 7:30 PM
at Amelia Park in Westfield.
